Description
Join National Music & Global Culture Society and The Sphinx Organization in paying homage to African American composers in classical music. As we celebrate Black History Month, this event will highlight the wonderful contributions of composers of African heritage including Florence Price, Scott Joplin, Undine Smith Moore, William Grant Still, Hall Johnson, Rosephanye Powell, and more.
The concert will include performances by Nargiz Aliyarova (piano), Gizem Yucel (viola), Shenika John Jordan (soprano), and Sterling Elliott (cello) who recently won the first prize in the 2019 Sphinx competition.
